If I could choose the path we take
From back there at the start
I'd hide from you before we make
The choice that broke your heart

If I could live my life again
That image I would hide
In hiding such, I'd hide the pain
That tore at you inside

If I could keep you from the love
That broke your heart in two
I'd never even make the touch
Or say that I love you

But I can't change the path I've walked
And I can not forget
The love we shared, the way we talked
The future that we set

For even now, as years go on
I still remember you
I wish I knew the path beyond
The love I can't pass through.
